The pursuit of clean energy has allowed Mitsubishi to develop a whole new technology – the Dendo Drive House System. Showcased at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, Mitsubishi designed the system so that your home and your EV can share electric power with one another through the use of solar panels and a home battery.
If you’re interested in this technology, you’ll have to schedule an appointment to have a professional install the system in your house. Once installed, the home battery will be able to charge your EV using the house’s electrical power. However, if there is excess energy leftover in the EV at the end of a long day, it can function as a sort of backup generator by providing energy to the house as well. One benefit of this is the ability to continue powering the house with your vehicle during a power outage.
The Dendo Drive House System was revealed alongside the new Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer, an all-electric SUV, in Geneva and it’s said to be compatible with the new vehicle. Mitsubishi representatives have revealed that other EVs and PHEV hybrids in its lineup are also compatible with the technology. Bringing clean energy to the forefront of its brand is a big step in a sustainable direction for Mitsubishi.
