Mitsubishi Finally Releases the Eclipse Cross in South Africa

Here in the United States, we have gotten to enjoy the sophisticated Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross for over a year. However, in other places in the world, it’s just getting started. In fact, Mitsubishi just released the Eclipse Cross in South Africa.

The South African model will be similar to the model available in North America, except it will only come with two trims choices: one with front-wheel drive and the other with Super All-Wheel Control. Here in the U.S., it has five trim levels. Another difference that South Africa has left-hand traffic, so the driver and front passenger seat are switched.

South Africans will find the Eclipse Cross comes well-equipped with features like leather upholstery, a head-up display, Bluetooth, voice controls, keyless entry, and a 7-inch touchscreen display. Buyers can also add on a built-in navigation system. Standard safety features include traction and stability control, hill start assist, and anti-lock brakes.

In the United States, the Eclipse Cross comes with a beefier warranty. In South Africa, it will only come with a 3-year/100,000-kilometer warranty and a 5-year/90,000-kilometer service plan. In the U.S., we get to enjoy a 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile New Vehicle Warranty.
