When it comes to choosing a new car, many people list safety as a top priority. If you are looking for something that is both safe and affordable, the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander is a great choice. Recently, the Mitsubishi Outlander’s safety was recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) with a Top Safety Pick recognition.
“As an engineering-focused company, we build safety, quality and dependability into every one of our vehicles,” said Mark Chaffin, chief operating officer, MMNA. “Earning the IIHS Top Safety Pick is a key reason for customers to place the Outlander at the top of their shopping list, proving it one of the most competitive vehicles in the incredibly popular compact SUV segment.”
To earn the Top Safety Pick status, the Outlander earned the top “good” rating in the moderate overlap front, driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. It also earned a “superior” rating for front crash prevention when equipped with available safety features.
With the SEL Touring Package, the 2019 Outlander comes equipped with Forward Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beams, and a multi-view camera system. The SEL model comes standard with Blind Spot Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Change Assist.
