Whether you’re setting out on your road trip tomorrow or you aren’t going until July, it’s never too early or too late to implement some helpful hacks into your agenda to reduce your stress levels. Here are some of our favorite road trip tips.
First of all, you want to keep yourself and your passengers entertained on the drive, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Pre-load your mobile devices with apps, games, and videos—unless your car has a mobile hotspot, in which case you don’t have to worry about it.
Check out books for the kids and audiobooks for you to listen to on the drive from your local library. Another way to keep kids occupied is to get a map that will span your whole trip, laminate it, and have your kids follow along with marker so they can see your progress.
Keep your car clean and organized with easy food storage tricks, like keeping celery or pretzels in a half-empty jar of peanut butter, putting dry snacks in old coffee creamer bottles, and using a plastic cereal container as a small trashcan.
You should also download apps that will make your trip easier, like the SitOrSquat app that helps you find clean places to use the restroom and GasBuddy, which compares area gas prices and helps you find the cheapest ones.
